A limited edition of the RUN LONG pulling harness honouring the founder of MANMAT, Jaroslav Soumar. The same harness worn by sled teams and racers from Alaska through the Nordic countries to New Zealand since the 1990s – in a version that will never be made again.

It started with grey. In 1982, Jarda Soumar sewed his first professional prototype from whatever he had to hand – grey fire hoses. From that work in an attic in Pěkov grew a brand that today ranks among the world's best in sled-dog harnesses. That's why the heart of this edition is the original grey (HEX #dadada) – a direct nod to those beginnings. And because MANMAT has never stood still, we've made the limited edition in modern colour combinations too. The classic or the contemporary – the choice is yours.

Craftsmanship we stand behind Every harness is hand-sewn in the Czech Republic, using the same technology and materials MANMAT has been developing and refining for over thirty years, guided by the experience of world champions. We still see our harnesses working at races after ten years of use. That's not marketing – it's a property of the product.

How the harness is built RUN LONG is a long X-back harness. Internal padding and a refined construction distribute pulling force evenly, so your dog moves comfortably in any weather and the toughest terrain. Reflective elements stitched along the sides and across the top cross keep your dog visible at night without dazzling. A wide range of sizes fits most medium and large breeds of varying build.

What it's made of and how it holds up

• 100% polypropylene (synthetic silk) – doesn't absorb water, won't stiffen or freeze in winter.
• Webbing tested to 100,000 abrasion cycles.
• Non-fraying edges, a technology borrowed from climbing harnesses – the webbing won't unravel even if cut.
• Double sternum coverage protects the dog's shoulder joints from subluxation without restricting forward movement.
• 5-year stitching warranty. We stand behind every stitch.
• Machine washable up to 30 °C. Keeps its colour and properties for years.

Edition details

• A maximum of 1,000 pieces. Then the edition closes for good.
• Each harness carries its own serial number.
